INFORMATION ON THE RECOGNITION OF STUDIES
AND APOSTILLE OF DIPLOMAS

RECOGNITION OF STUDIES COMPLETED OUTSIDE ROMANIA

To have studies completed in another country recognized in the Romanian education system, the following steps are required:

  1. Visit the National Center for Recognition and Equivalence of Diplomas (12 Spiru Haret Street, Sector 1, Bucharest)
  2. Request.
  3. AStudy document for recognition/equivalence:
    • Copy, if the study document is in Romanian/English/French/Spanish/Italian.
    • Copy and legalized translation into Romanian for other foreign languages.
  4. Diploma Supplement/Transcript or any other study document highlighting the academic path, in case specialization recognition is requested, or if the study field is not mentioned on the diploma:
    • Copy, if the study document is in Romanian/English/French/Spanish/Italian.
    • Copy and legalized translation into Romanian for other foreign languages.
  5. Other relevant documents, if applicable.
  6. Copy of passport, ID card or identification card, proof of name change (if applicable).
  7. Evaluation fee of 50 lei.

Fees can be paid in lei at the CNRED cashier (Monday to Thursday, between 9:00-12:00 and 13:00-15:00) or by Bank Transfer mentioning the account below:

Apostilling a graduation diploma is a process that certifies the authenticity of signatures and stamps on official documents issued by an educational institution.

This procedure aims to internationally recognize the diploma in the signatory states of the 1961 Hague Convention, facilitating its use outside the country where it was issued.

APOSTILLE OF GRADUATION DIPLOMA

To apostille a graduation diploma issued by an accredited adult vocational training provider recognized by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection through the Bucharest Authorization Commission, you need to follow the following steps:

1.

Collect the Graduation Certificate and its Supplement from the training provider where you completed the course.

2.

With the Graduation Certificate and Supplement, go to the Bucharest Authorization Commission.

3.

Complete a request for obtaining a stamp and the director’s signature for the apostille issuance. The Graduation Certificate, Supplement, and ID card are required, all in original.

4.

Once you have obtained the signed and stamped request (usually not obtained the same day), go to the Bucharest Prefecture, where the apostille is issued (a fee is charged).
